From the glacial lakes. In the Northern Rockies.
At work anywhere.

I wield a raspberry-colored pen (it’s friendlier than red) for intentional edits to improve your message.

With 30 years of experience in the fundamentals of storytelling, I’ve got an eye for detail and an ear for the most thorough edits.

I bring accuracy in my work, balanced editorial judgment, consistency to writing style and voice, humanity and empathy to connect with readers, and curiosity to best understand and communicate for a specific audience and brand. Translating technical writing into clear language is one of my favorite aspects of editing.

Work & Life Experience

Over the last 20 years, I’ve written, created and edited publications (from fact sheets to 500-page books), a quarterly magazine, news releases, promotional and marketing projects, websites, social media posts/campaigns, blogs, and occasional fiction. I’m adept in Associated Press, Chicago Manual, and brand-specific styles. As a seasoned print project manager with roots in branding and packaging, I’m nimble at balancing multiple projects on deadline and within budget. My topic expertise draws from various life experience: marketing education; agricultural, science and university communications; horticulture; print production; small business ownership; parenting; home ownership; automotive repair; and tourism.

In between editing, I write for myself to keep the pencil sharp. A journal, blog, short-form prose, card series… and what respectable writer/editor doesn’t have a book-in-progress? Curious about The Red Yarn? Ask me.
